The National Weather Service’s Flagstaff station recently released a breakdown of total precipitation in communities in northern Arizona for the 2022 monsoon season, from June 15 to Sept. 30. The breakdown shows that Prescott’s Sundog weather station recorded 13.78 inches of precipitation during the monsoon season, making 2022 the fifth-wettest monsoon on record since 1898. Days after one of the wettest monsoon seasons on record ended on Sept. 30, the Prescott area has experienced continued rainfall this week that has brought about an inch more rain so far during the first week of October.
