On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at approximately 12:06 p.m., Prescott Police Department officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Copper Basin Road and Highland Avenue.

City Attorney Joseph Young said he believes the Prescott Police Department will be exonerated in the two officer-involved shootings that killed two women last year.

Through grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Prescott Police Department will participate in DUI saturation patrols over Labor Day weekend as part of the Tri-City DUI Task Force.

A 38-year-old Prescott man who crashed his vehicle into a building in the 1400 block of West Gurley Street and fled from police the night of March 31 faces multiple felony charges, Prescott Police reported in a news release.

Prescott Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section the week of March 13 issued 56 traffic violations on Highway 89, a department news release stated March 25.

Prescott Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section stopped 37 vehicles and issued 63 traffic violations during an extra traffic-enforcement detail on Willow Creek Road the week of March 6.

During the week of Feb. 27, Prescott Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section issued 97 traffic violations during an extra traffic enforcement detail on Montezuma Street, the department reported in a news release March 8.
