Following a record-shattering season that resulted in a fifth-place finish at the 2022 NJCAA Division I Softball Championship May 26 in Yuma, the Yavapai College softball team has been racking up postseason awards.
The Yavapai College baseball team opened its final week of regular-season play April 26 with a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Arizona, clinching a spot in the NJCAA Division I, Region I Tournament in the process.
Ranked No. 1 in NJCAA Division I, the Yavapai College softball team’s pitching staff logged its third and fourth consecutive shutouts May 26, sweeping an Arizona Conference (ACCAC) doubleheader from Glendale, 6-0 and 7-0.
Yavapai College’s baseball team headed to Yuma April 19 and swept an Arizona Conference (ACCAC) doubleheader from NJCAA Division I No. 13-ranked Arizona Western, winning the opener, 4-1, and the second game, 17-5.
After a sweep of NJCAA Division II No. 2-ranked Phoenix College April 16, the Yavapai College softball team is now the No. 1-ranked team in NJCAA D-I, the national junior college association announced in its latest softball rankings April 18.
