Whether in the classroom or attending virtual school lessons from their computers at home, the students at Mayer Elementary School are getting ready for the upcoming school year. With COVID-19 and these uncertain times, it is difficult for both students and teachers to entertain different rules and a whole new learning experience. On Thursday, July 30, the Yavapai Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution were excited to be able to lend a hand by bringing school supplies that both the teachers and students will be able to utilize for the upcoming school year. For the past three years this chapter has been instrumental in helping supply some of the material needs of these students who range from K-8th grade. The ladies from Yavapai Chapter DAR who participate in the ‘Community Classroom’ activities consider this as one of their most fun and heart-warming activities. Pictured are, from left, Dorothy Castanos and Judy Davies. For more information about the organization, visit http://yavapai.arizonadar.org. (Sue Burk/Courtesy)
