It's easy to see John Locke's influence on our Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Locke's "Life, Liberty and Property" became Thomas Jefferson's "Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness." Locke also argued for separation of powers and separation of church and state.
