Matt Hinshaw/The Daily CourierIda Kendall owner of The Frame & I picture framing shows some of her companies frames and employee Russell Johnson's artwork Wednesday afternoon in downtown Prescott. The Frame & I is celebrating their 30th Anniversary in downtown Prescott. The company was started by Joe & Joanna Hensley in 1984 and purchased by Kendall and then co-worker Kathleen Roeth in 1998. Roeth retired in 2011 and Kendall has been the sole owner since.

A girl named Ida Kendall was in the sixth grade at Dexter Elementary School (now closed). Her daydreams alternated between being an astronaut and being an artist.And, on March 6, 1984, a mile from Dexter, Joe and Joanna Hensley took the jump and opened a shop called the Frame & I.
