Founded in 1947, Sterling Ranch, a home to disabled women, sits on four pastoral acres. With large shade trees, a dormitory, three cottages and a main house, the serene setting is the oldest facility of its kind in Arizona.Ramona Sterling of Prescott and her husband Rock (now deceased) came to live at the ranch as house-parents in 1956. As parents of four children, two born disabled by PKU - a rare genetic disorder - the Sterlings were well-suited to the task.
