In a rare move, the Yavapai County Attorney's Office filed a motion Friday asking that the judge hearing the Steven DeMocker capital murder case be removed, claiming an offhand remark that he made showed "undue or deep-seated favoritism toward the defendant."After listening to arguments, Presiding Judge Robert M. Brutinel denied that motion, allowing the May 4 trial to go forward.
