The Agua Fria National Monument encompasses 71,000 acres on the east side of I-17 between Black Canyon City and Cordes Junction. It is a vast, rugged, rocky and remote stretch of mesas and canyons accessed by Bloody Basin Road. And it is one of the most significant systems of prehistoric sites in the American Southwest.
