Neil Allan McCarthy, 50, convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification, has advised the Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) that he will be living on Salem Place, in Prescott Valley, according to a news release. He is not currently wanted by the PVPD at this time.

The PVPD is releasing the following information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notification of Sex Offenders Law. The offender in this publication is living in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, released from county jail, or are accepted under an interstate compact. Offenders are categorized into three levels according to their risk to the community: Level 1, low risk, Level 2, intermediate risk, and Level 3, high risk.

On April 23, 1998, in Navajo County, McCarthy, who was 25 at the time, was convicted of sexual conduct with a minor and sentenced to 14 months in the Arizona Department of Corrections. The victim was a 17-year old female known to the offender. On May 13, 2018, in Yavapai County, the 45-year-old McCarthy was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender and sentenced to three years on probation. On April 1, 2021, in Yavapai County, McCarthy, who 48, was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender and sentenced to two and a half years in the Arizona Department of Correction.

This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed community is a safer community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated. According to the news release, McCarthy is white, stands 5 foot 7 inches, and weighs 178 pounds. He has white hair and blue eyes. He has no tattoos.
