Edward (Ed) Allan Furbush, age 68, passed on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at his home in Prescott, Arizona. Ed was born April 17, 1955, in St. Petersburg, Florida to Allan and Mary Furbush. Ed graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1973 located in St. Petersburg. After that, he worked as a dental technician where he created dentures and other dental implants at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Ed grew up riding motorcycles in the dunes behind his childhood home and riding the waves of St. Pete’s gulf waters. He continued his love of the water through his life, becoming a lifeguard, surfing, triathlon and finally enjoying his paddle board on the lakes of Arizona. But his love of being on two wheels remained his passion. Racing motorcycles, road and mountain bikes with many trophies to show for his dedication. In 2010, Ed opened his bicycle shop in downtown Prescott, Arizona. Southwest Sounds and Cyclery combined his love of music, bikes and friends. And became an iconic and soulful place for friends and visitors for over 20 years. Ed is survived by his sister, Wendy Greenwood and nephew, John Greenwood of Atlanta, Georgia and nephew James of Orlando, Florida.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Soul Ride Bike Shop, 230 Montezuma St., Prescott.

Ed was a kind gentle soul who was loved by all who knew him. He will always be deeply remembered in all our hearts. “See YA” - Ed
