Gerald F. Bade (Jerry) was born on Jan. 25, 1940 in Hamilton Montana, to John W. Bade and Isabella Emma (nee Jahnke) Bade. He was the firstborn of twins.

He met his wife Harriet in 1963 during Peace Corps training. They were married in Pakistan in 1964. After Peace Corps service, he earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Oregon. Then Jerry and Harriet joined the U.S. Air Force. Jerry finished his service honorably at Luke AFB. He earned an MBA from ASU in 1970.

In 1971 Jerry, his brother Don and friend Frank Boyes founded B&B Construction and Development Inc. Over time brothers Duane and John and sister Janet joined B&B.

He was an active member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and had and opportunity to serve the Savior in a number of different church positions. He played a role in building Arizona Lutheran Academy.

He served many years as a board member of Spalding Education International.

Though he accomplished many things, by grace alone he was a Christian! We know we will see him again in glory through our shared faith in the life, death and resurrection of our LORD Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by daughter Cari, parents John and Isabel, brother Duane (Sheri). He is survived by his wife Harriet, sons Adam and Andrew (Stacey) and grandsons Shayne and Jordyn, his twin sister and faithful lifetime friend Janet, brothers Donald (Julia) and John (Coco) as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews and cherished personal friends.

Revelation 2:10 tells us... “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.” The LORD gave Jerry the crown of life on Jan. 9, 2023. Funeral services were held Jan. 26, 2023 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Phoenix, AZ. His cremated remains were inurned at the Prescott National Veteran’s Cemetery Memorial Wall, Prescott, AZ on Jan. 27 2023. Pastor Stephen Hein from Christ Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley officiated at both services.
