Domestic dispute in Prescott Valley escalates to shooting incident; one arrested

On Thursday, Sept. 14, at about 9:30 p.m. Prescott Valley Police officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute that escalated into a shooting in the 4100 block of Cholla Drive, Prescott Valley.
Police officers at the scene identified that one person inside the residence needed medical attention because of a gunshot wound. Officers then safely extricated the subject who had been shot, through the window of the home where the incident occurred, police reported.
After getting the injured person to safety, officers then called out to the home and the other subject surrendered without further incident. It was at this time the subject who surrendered was taken into custody.
No police officers were injured during the apprehension of the suspect.
The injured person, who was shot was initially treated on scene, was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital for additional medical treatment.
The Prescott Valley Criminal Investigations Section has been called out and this matter is currently under investigation.
