Obituary: Norma Ruth Orr (Merwin)
July 21, 1928 — July 23, 2022
Norma was born in Prescott, Arizona, and lived the majority of her life in Yavapai County. She loved Prescott and felt she had seen the best of it. She would look at the mountains and comment that one day there would be buildings on every hilltop. In her later years she enjoyed family picnics at Granite Creek Park.
Norma served on several committees at the Sharlot Hall Museum for over 20 years and helped with fundraising events at the Pioneer Home.
She worked at Waters Flowers and eventually purchased Allan’s Flowers. Norma owned the business for almost 30 years and provided the Christmas decorations for a few businesses including the Pine Cone Inn.
She loved to travel locally and abroad with her family and dear friends.
Norma is survived by her daughters Dusty Hudson (Bob) of Mayer, Debbie Hudson (Bill) of Wellton, granddaughter Emilie Hudson of Centennial, Colorado, great grandson Rylan O’Brien of Tucson, nephew Eric Johnston, great niece Laurel Johnston, great nephew Eric Johnston Jr. all of Stockton, California, Patti Bledsoe (Doug) of Prescott Valley, Jeannie Kirby of Mesa, and Daisy her 18-year-old rescue dog who lets Dusty and Bob live with her in Mayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Orr Jr., granddaughter Rebecca K. O’Brien, parents David Copperfield Merwin and Arizona Rose Shull (Merwin), sister Frances Johnston, and nephew Ron Johnston.
The family would like to thank Solaris Hospice, Cheyenne Hull and the staff at Boulder Gardens for the care and compassion that was given to Norma while she struggled with Parkinson’s.
They would also like to thank Hampton Funeral Home.
