Obituary: Norman Eugene Daniel, PhD

Norman Eugene Daniel, PhD, passed away peacefully at his home in Prescott, Arizona, January 12, 2022.

He was born at home in Knoxville, Tennessee December 22, 1932. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army as the transportation logistics coordinator at the Displaced Persons Camp in Wildflecken, Germany.

Following his military service, he went on to receive his master’s degree, and then earned his doctorate from Indiana University. Norman had a fulfilling career in academia, sharing his knowledge in economics, with an emphasis in transportation logistics.

He taught at the University of Alabama and the University of Houston.

Ultimately, he retired. following a long career as a tenured professor at Arizona State University (Go Devils!). Retirement afforded him the opportunity to immerse himself in his two favorite things: family and reading.

He is survived by his children KC Rader (Doug), David, and Stephen (Shara), his grandchildren Craig, Lindsay, and Cody, and his great grandchildren Sophia, Olive, and Grant, and the mother of his children Nancy Brenan Daniel. He made our hearts sing. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
