Prescott Education Association to host Governing Board candidate forum Aug. 31

The first public forum for all seven candidates running for seats on the Prescott Unified School District Governing Board is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 in the Hendrix Auditorium at the Mile High Middle School, 300 S. Granite St. in downtown Prescott.

The forum for the candidates who will be on the Nov. 8 election ballot will be hosted and moderated by the Prescott Education Association. Child care will be provided.

Five of the candidates are campaigning to fill two open, four-year seats, and two are seeking one, two-year seat. The five candidates for the four-year seats are Michele Hamer, Andy Nelson, Brooks Compton, Stan Goligoski and Jane Robertson. The two candidates for the two-year seat are appointed incumbent Sarah Vincent and Linda Conn.

The community is invited to come and meet all the candidates, and hear them offer their position on questions related to a variety of educational issues.
