Edgar Kellis departed this life on September 6, 2021. He was born March 18, 1924.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Kellis; his second wife, Bobbi Jean Phillips, and his daughter, Leeta Ann Kellis. Edgar is survived by his wife, Judith Kellis; his children, Gilbert (Shelby) Kellis, Bert (Margaret) Kellis, Mark (Marty) Bangle, Alice (Art) Kerschen; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Ed was a man of faith, family and community.

He was a rancher with a sharp eye for business. Ed moved to Arizona 1941, attended the University of Arizona for a time before relocating to Mayer to assist his parents with their goat ranch. They moved to Wild Horse Basin in 1944 where he met his first wife, Betty Jo Milligan. Ed started working for Bagdad Copper Corporation in 1945 in various positions and retired as head of the purchasing department after 30 years with the company. In 1962 he purchased the Robert Gray homestead from Clifford and Ora Gray. This was the beginning of the Kellis Ranch.

He was a long-time member of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association and a life member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM. He served as the Justice of the Peace for the town of Bagdad for 23 years. Ed and Judy married in 1995.

Services for Ed were held graveside at the Wickenburg Cemetery at on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
