Obituary: Juanita Bertha Frias
Juanita Bertha Frias, 84, passed away peacefully September 21, 2021, in her home. She was born June 12, 1937 and was the ninth of ten children. She was extremely proud of the fact that she was a Prescott native daughter “born and raised”. She lived in the same home for 82 years and always said that she wanted “to leave this Earth with them carrying me out the front door with my toes pointed up!”
Bertha graduated from Prescott High School in 1956. She spent 15 years as a volunteer for Prescott Unified School District at Washington Elementary and Prescott Junior High School. She was also involved with several groups at Sacred Heart Parish over the years.
She married Guadalupe Frias in October, 1962 and they had celebrated almost 58 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death.
Bertha is survived by her two children, Henry (Lisa) Frias and Christina (Jim) Kimmet; four grandchildren, Michelle (Zane) Stepp, Robert (Bailey) Frias, Jacqueline (Gary) Brainard and Crystal Kimmet, and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Stepp. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Ramos; many nieces, nephews and several Godchildren.
Services will be held October 15, 2021, at Sacred Heart Parish, 150 Fleury in Prescott. Rosary at 10:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. and interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Reception Following. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bertha’s name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Bank, 120 N. Summit Ave, Prescott, AZ 86301.
