Roadwork Ahead: EZ Street sewer main installation continues
The City of Prescott and its contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, are working on a sewer relocation project. The project consists of relocating a sewer line from within the City of Prescott Fleet Maintenance area (located at the north end of Mount Vernon Avenue) and extending it north to a new manhole on EZ Street. Additionally, a new sewer main extension is being constructed from EZ Street to a private garage located adjacent to the roadway. Other work includes the relocation of sewer services and miscellaneous concrete and pavement repairs where necessary.
The installation of a new manhole and new sewer main will continue across EZ Street, east of Henry Street, headed south into the City of Prescott Fleet Maintenance area.
Monday, November 8 through Thursday, November 11, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday Nov.8 through Thursday, Nov. 11.
To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Personnel will work with tenants to maintain driveway access throughout the work zone.
Once complete, this project will upgrade the city’s utility infrastructure for all users. This project is scheduled to be complete in early 2022.
Asphalt paving operations to begin along Flora Street and Campbell Avenue
The City of Prescott and its contractor, Paveco, are currently working on a pavement reconstruction project. The project consists of pulverizing the existing asphalt, blending it to create a recycled base course, and placing new asphalt pavement along Prescott Heights Drive, Campbell Avenue, Flora Street and Black Drive. Additional work includes minor drainage repairs, restoration of disturbed traffic striping and adjusting utility covers to the finished road grade.
Crews will be paving one side of the roadway at a time to minimize street closures. Please be aware of temporary lane restrictions, reduced speeds, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, to Friday, Nov. 12. Access for residents will be maintained when possible. However, temporary restrictions will occur when new asphalt pavement is placed along your roadway. Driveway closures will occur for approximately 30 minutes following paving application in front of a property. If you need to leave during the temporary closure, please speak with a crew member and they will accommodate you as best as possible. Use caution when traveling in proximity to the work zone and heavy equipment.
Once complete, these improvements will extend pavement life and improve the ride quality for the local community. This project is scheduled for completion in fall 2021.
Paving rehabilitation continues no Wilkinson Drive to new Corsair Drive roundabout
The City of Prescott and their contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, are currently working on a pavement rehabilitation project. The project consists of removing and replacing the existing asphalt pavement along Wilkinson Drive, from the Prescott Regional Airport to the new Corsair Drive roundabout intersection. Additional work includes repairing unsuitable subgrade where necessary, miscellaneous curb and gutter replacement, restoring disturbed traffic striping, and adjusting utility covers to the finished road grade. Crews will also continue removing and replacing concrete curb and gutter as needed along Wilkinson Drive, from the Prescott Regional Airport to the new Corsair Drive roundabout intersection. In addition to this work, crews will be installing valley gutters and storm drain systems along the project corridor.
Please be aware of temporary street closures, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise and flagging operations throughout the work zones from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday Nov. 8 through Friday, Nov. 12.
Access to the Airport Business Park and Prescott Regional Airport will be maintained at all times. Motorists are asked to utilize Corsair Avenue and follow the marked detour signage to get to their destination. To avoid conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the city asks that residents avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained when possible. However, temporary restrictions will occur when paving operations are taking place along a roadway. A detailed paving notification door hanger will be delivered to those affected prior to paving operations commencing on each roadway. The notifications include information regarding access, work hours, and potential impacts related to paving operations.
Once complete, these improvements will extend pavement life and improve the ride quality for the local community. This project is scheduled for completion in fall 2021.
