2-vehicle crash on Highway 69 claims 1 life west of Yavapai Hills

A two-vehicle collision occurred early Tuesday morning, May 11, as one of the occupants from one of the vehicles was declared dead on the scene while the other was airlifted to the hospital, Arizona Department of Safety (DPS) spokesperson Bart Graves said.

At 6:39 a.m., DPS dispatchers received a call of a two-vehicle fatal collision that occurred on northbound Highway 69 at milepost 291, west of Yavapai Hills.

A Subaru sedan was attempting to turn at the intersection when it was T-boned by a Dodge pickup pulling a trailer. Both vehicles rolled into a ditch.

An adult male from the Subaru was deceased on scene. A female from that vehicle was flown by helicopter to a Phoenix area hospital. The incident closed the roadway for about an hour and a half until 8:04 a.m.
