Marian Joan Tripp, born Dec. 2, 1938, in Francesville, Indiana, lost her battle with breast cancer Feb. 24, 2021.

She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Alan L. Tripp, who was her loving husband for 62 years; her three children, Kristi Tripp Lane, Sheryl Tripp Crenshaw and Wade Tripp; and her brothers, Ernest Nickels and Dennis Nickels.

Marian graduated from South Phoenix High School in 1956 and married Alan on April 11, 1959. Marian and Alan lived in various places around the country that included California, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Utah, Texas and Arizona. Marian worked as an executive secretary for Canyon Ranch in Tucson until she and Alan retired to Prescott, where they raised and breed Alpacas. Marian was known as “the Alpaca Lady” to her neighbors in the Rim Rock subdivision where they had their ranch. Marian was an avid craftsman, who made beautiful hats, scarves, sweaters and socks from the Alpaca yarn she spun herself from fleece collected from their herd.

Marian was a kind and generous soul who touched many people in her life. She was loved and admired by those she came in contact with throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
