Agnes Rita Rowley

On Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, Agnes Rita Rowley of Prescott Valley, Arizona, formerly of Barstow, California, passed away in peace.

Agnes met her late husband, Donald, at a Sadie Hawkins dance in 1950 and married in 1951.

Agnes and Don had seven children, Donald, Patrick, Timothy, Teresa, Michael, Christopher and Lisa; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She has two sisters, Patricia Bond and Diane Bond; and a brother, Earl Bond.

She and her husband loved to dance and, after moving to Prescott Valley, formed the Fundance Clogging Dance group. Don would write and queue the dances and Agnes would demonstrate the steps to their students. The Fundance Cloggers performed at several venues throughout the Prescott Valley area.

To know Agnes was to love her. She knew no strangers. Whenever a new neighbor moved in, she greeted them with a fresh baked loaf of bread. She taught her children by example: “Treat others as you would have them treat you.” She always helped people less fortunate. Whether it was donating to clothing or food drives, providing transportation to doctor appointments to people in the community without a vehicle, or inviting people into their home on holidays if they could not be with their own families.

A Celebration of Agnes’ Life will be held this summer on her 90th birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to her favorite charity St. Jude’s Hospital — https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now.
