Recreational marijuana restrictions ready for D-H Planning and Zoning
Ordinance advances to Town Council if OK’d in online-only meeting

In a 7-0 vote, Dewey-Humboldt Town Council members agreed to amend the town’s zoning ordinance to prohibit any commercial recreational marijuana grow facilities within town limits, except for what is provided for by law, before Arizona’s Proposition 207 goes into full effect early in 2021. They also approved banning processing facilities or dispensaries of recreational marijuana within town limits, except for what is provided for by law. Sales of recreational marijuana in Arizona are expected to begin in early April, industry experts say. Dispensaries that sell medical marijuana are likely to be the first to get licenses for recreational sales. (Courier file photo)
