Goodwill Virtual Job Fair scheduled for Wednesday in Prescott
Prospective employees may schedule a Zoom call in advance with preselected employers
Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona will play host to a Virtual Job Fair from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 23, providing a prime opportunity to quad-city area residents who have been trying to land a local position during the economic downturn.

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona Employer and Community Engagement Partner Mayra Rios said limited seating will be available at its Prescott location, 1385 Iron Springs Road, for those who need a computer with internet access.
The event will feature five employers on a live feed. Employers include American Income, the Department of Economic Security, Las Fuentes Resort Village, Goodwill and Hozhoni Foundation, Inc.
“Remember that when you register beforehand and attend you will guarantee your interview with the employer of your choice,” Rios added.
If you choose to attend the event in-person at Goodwill’s Prescott location, space is limited and masks are required, Rios said. She added that participants also must follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
A NEW OPPORTUNITY
Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona Marketing Manager Lea Graham said the organization started offering virtual job fairs this summer “due to people not being able to find jobs.”
She said the fairs are helpful to those who are transitioning to a new career or looking for a new opportunity after a layoff.
Graham adds that previous virtual job fairs have worked out well and that it is typical for four or five hiring companies to participate in them.
“Our rural career team is well-connected, and it has good relationships with employers,” she said. “Our team conducts outreach to connect with employers.”
Goodwill’s virtual job fairs give prospective employees a chance to introduce themselves to employers. If a candidate makes a good impression on the prospective employer, a job interview is scheduled for a specified date and time after the fair, Graham said.
“We have found these virtual job fairs to be really successful and efficient, too,” Graham added.
