Roadwork Ahead: Sundog Ranch Road, Pavement Project, Wildwood & Haisley, Corsair Avenue, Cliff Rose

Sundog Ranch Road Water Line Upsizing

The City of Prescott and Fann Contracting, Inc. are working on a utility upgrade project. The project includes the installation of an upsized water main line along Sundog Ranch Road, from just north of the intersection of the Yavpe Connector to Prescott Lakes Parkway. Additional work includes pavement replacement, drainage culverts and headwalls, and water main appurtenances.

The project is scheduled to be complete in winter 2020.

UTILITY — With the installation of new water main and concrete storm drain structures along Sundog Ranch Road complete, crews will begin testing the newly installed water main in advance of tying it into the city’s existing system.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Thursday, Oct. 19-22, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundog Ranch Road will be closed to through traffic between Yavpe Connector and Prescott Lakes Parkway. Please be aware of additional lane restrictions, flagging operations, and heavy equipment accessing the work zones.

FY20 Pavement Preservation Project

The City of Prescott and Cactus Asphalt are currently working on a pavement preservation project along selected roadways and alleyways throughout the Prescott area. The preservation process consists of removing existing roadways, rebuilding the subgrade with recycled roadway material, and installing new chip seal and PMM or asphalt. Additional work includes adjusting utilities to the finished road grade and restoring any disturbed traffic striping.

The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2020.

PAVING — Paving operations are now complete along sections of Douglas Lane, Lizzard Lane, Metate Lane, Vallejo Vista Road, Hoffman Road, Loop Drive, and Cedar Road. With all paving operations complete, crews will be installing speed bumps as needed, raising utility and manhole covers to the finished road grade and performing shoulder work and clean-up operations.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Thursday, Oct. 19-22, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be aware of temporary street closures, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. These construction activities are highly weather dependent and subject to change.

Wildwood & Haisley Watermain

The City of Prescott and Capital Improvements, LLC are working on a watermain replacement project. The project consists of the installation of new watermains along easements and driveways in two Prescott subdivisions, depicted in the map below. The project is scheduled to be complete in winter 2020/21.

UTILITY — The installation of new water main and services for three easements along the northeast corner of Wildwood Drive in Wildwood Estates will continue. In addition to this work, crews will continue water testing operations before connecting the newly installed water main and services into the city’s existing system.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Thursday, Oct. 19-22, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

A temporary water shut off will be required to connect the newly installed water main into the city’s existing system. Affected residents will be notified in advance of any service interruption. To minimize the impacts on the existing asphalt pavement and local surroundings, the contractor will utilize rubber tire equipment for this project.

Corsair Avenue Extension Project

The City of Prescott and Fann Contracting, Inc. are currently working on a roadway extension project. The project consists of constructing a new roadway connection between the existing southern terminus of Corsair Avenue to an intersection with Wilkinson Drive. The intersection of Wilkinson Drive and Corsair Avenue will feature a single lane roundabout to accommodate for peak traffic flows. The new extension of Corsair Avenue will include two paved travel lanes complete with a paved center median and new curb and gutter. In addition to this work, the project includes both drainage and utility improvements. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2020.

ASPHALT PAVING — With subgrade preparation now complete, asphalt paving operations are set to begin along the new Corsair Avenue Extension. Following paving operations, crews will be raising utilities to the finished road grade.

CORSAIR — Concrete curb and gutter installation will continue as crews work to construct the new Corsair Avenue Extension, as well as the roundabout at Wilkinson Drive.

ROUNDABOUT — Crews will be installing underground utilities, installing new concrete, and performing grading operation in advance of paving operations for the new roundabout.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Oct. 19-23, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. One lane of traffic will remain open along Wilkinson Drive at all times. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, detour routes, and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

Cliff Rose Pavement Improvements

The City of Prescott and PAP are currently working on a pavement improvement project. The project consists of removing and replacing the existing asphalt pavement within the Cliff Rose Subdivision. Additional work includes the restoration of disturbed traffic striping, adjustment of utility covers to finished road grade, and handicap ramp and curb and gutter replacements in select areas throughout the project corridor. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2020.

CONCRETE — Crews will continue surveying operations and removing sidewalks and curb and gutter throughout the project corridor. This work is being completed in advance of sidewalk and curb and gutter replacement.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Oct. 19-23, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, sidewalk closures, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

STREET PARKING — To avoid conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Personnel will work with businesses and residents to maintain driveway access.
