PUSD donors build desks for 24 students who, due to COVID-19, must do school at home
Kate Hayah and her three children – (from left, Lewis, Dareese and Darius) are awed by the PUSD gift of their own wood desks. The desk-donation project is the brainchild of district volunteers Judy and Mark Lauver who, with friends Barry Wharam and Bill Von Rohr, crafted the desks with materials donated by Home Depot in Frontier Village. PUSD Volunteer Coordinator Debra Pietro coordinated the distribution of 24 desks through the Family Resource Center. (PUSD/Courtesy)
