US Chamber awards Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce with 4-Star Accreditation
Recognized as one of the best in the nation
The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce received a distinguished honor and notable recognition this week on a national level.
The United States Chamber of Commerce, at its November board meeting, awarded the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce with 4-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures and positive impact on the community.
“Each day, chambers of commerce across this nation play a critical role in their communities” Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber vice president of Federation Relations said in a news release. “From connecting business owners with needed resources, to advocating on behalf of their region with lawmakers, these chambers convene thought leaders to strengthen the collective voices of their members.”
Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in its operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs and technology. This extensive self-review can take six to nine months to complete.
“I am so very proud of this Chamber, our board and staff,” said Prescott Valley Chamber CEO Marnie Uhl. “In 2015, we were accredited with 3 stars, and with a focus on sound business-driven policies, as well has investments in services, programming and procedures, our reapplication raised us to a 4-star accreditation. To achieve this is a true honor and one that belongs to everyone that worked and supported our efforts in this reapplication.”
Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members. Prescott Valley Chamber’s achievement of earning the 4-Star rating is something to celebrate.
“We are beyond thrilled to receive this very prestigious accreditation and to have our Chamber recognized as one of the best in the United States,” Uhl said.
