Last Week: Chino Valley —After their game with Dysart got canceled, the Cougars picked up a game against 4A team Deer Valley. The final score of 56-18 in favor of the Skyhawks certainly indicated that the Cougars were simply playing a team that was out of their league; Bourgade Catholic – The Golden Eagles suffered a similar defeat, falling to Snowflake 45-17.
The Setting: With Chino Valley ranked No. 22 in 3A, the Cougars still have somewhat of outside chance to make playoffs as only the top 16 teams qualify. Bourgade Catholic, on the other hand, is ranked at No. 16 and the Golden Eagles will be doing anything in their power to keep it that way. Regardless of who makes the playoffs, both teams will be looking to end their season on a high note
Players to Watch: Chino Valley — QB Jayden Smith, Jr.; WR Dante DeBono, Sr.; RB Layne Malave, Jr.; TE/DE Dakota McMains, Jr.; ILB/RB Collin Knight, Sr.; WR Kamren Loftin, Sr.; RB Harrison Setter, So.; Bourgade Catholic — QB Matthew Espinoza, Sr.; RB Joe Gonzalez, Jr.; RB David Espinoza, So.; WR Sean Trujillo, Sr.; WR Sebastian Gameros, Sr.; LB Brody Gatson, Sr.
