Child hit by truck, dragged 10 feet, is in hospital
A child was struck by a Ford F-150 truck in Prescott Valley at about 9 a.m. Friday, May 22, in front of a business on the frontage road in the 6800 block of East Highway 69.
The child was dragged about 10 feet, police said.
The child, according to witnesses, darted out into the street and was hit, Prescott Valley Police reported.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene, police said. Officers and Central Arizona Fire Medical Authority personnel arrived to stabilize the child. The child was then flown, via helicopter, to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Officers are currently investigating the accident along with assessing any impairment of the truck’s driver, police said.
The child suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to staff at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
