Yavapai County Free Library District branches provide online options as doors close to public
As COVID-19 cases appear in Yavapai County, precautions at district libraries increase out of necessity.
Effective immediately, all in-person services, including curbside pick-up of books and DVDs is suspended. Check the status of your library and basic services here (http://yln.info/library-status).
However, many free services remain available, including free wi-fi outside our libraries, reference questions by phone (as long as we are able to staff the libraries) and our vast online library. If you have an Internet connection and a library card, you have access to thousands of online books, magazines and audiobooks to download and enjoy on your phone, tablet or computer. The online library also includes language-learning platforms, research databases, book recommendations, auto repair manuals, small business and job skills resources, a native plant guide, biographies, history, science materials and more. And for the first time, Ancestry.com is now available anywhere with your library card, so you can finally research your family tree from home. Visit our online resources page (http://ycfld.org/onlineresources) to find out what we have for you.
Those who need to get a library card can register online (http://ycfld.org/selfreg) for access to the full online library. We are allocating funds to purchase online materials instead of physical materials while our doors are closed, so there will always be something new.
During time at home, you can learn a new language, write a business plan, study anything that interests you, trace your family tree, fix your car, read or listen to books and so much more. If you have any questions regarding library services, you can always call your local library for answers. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
