Women In Business is a branch of the Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. Their mission is to empower women, through education, networking, mentoring and partnerships and to promote opportunities for all women through out the quad-city area.

Women In Business committee members develop programs that provide opportunities for women to learn and network as well as share their expertise with each other and to address the unique issues of Women In Business.

There are five wonderful women on this committee who keep it active and running so well. Committee Chair Leah McLemore, is a strong advocate for Women In Business. Not only is she a local business owner but she’s a go getter.

“I enjoy connecting women with other women and building relationships with women,” McLemore said.

Women In Business meets quarterly and they provide great programs on real-world issues presented by top-notch experts. Next month the Women In Business committee is launching its second annual Veterans Fashion Show.

All models are women veterans and the clothing will be showcased by SMARTgirls Resale Fashion and Purple Clover. One-third of the proceeds will be benefiting the US Vets. Come show your support and see women veterans as they show off the latest in fashion.

There will be door prizes, gifts and drawings. This event is currently set for April 4 at Stoneridge Golf Course from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; $35 for lunch and a fashion show.

If you are interested in engaging with other strong women in the business community, attending Women In Business events should definitely be on your to do list.

The Women In Business Committee plans quarterly luncheons, an annual fashion show, and some evening mixers. All luncheons and events are designed to inform, inspire and provide women with the business connections they need to succeed. They foster an environment rich in networking and relationship building and building a stronger community.

All are encouraged to come to Women In Business, whether you are thinking of starting a business or have retired and have valuable insight to share with other local women. Come be a part of something great and help shape the women of tomorrow.

Lorette Brashear is the executive director for the Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.
