Quad Cities in Brief: Scholarships granted by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 6

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 6 in Prescott has awarded three scholarships for $1,000 each to three outstanding students:

Audrey Guess, Tri-City College Preparatory High School; Geneva Raber, Prescott High School; and Jared Carter, Prescott High School.

Audrey will be attending Hillsdale College in Michigan, majoring in Political Economics. Geneva will be attending Dixie State University in Utah, specializing in architecture and interior design. Jared plans to attend Brigham Young University in Utah, studying computer engineering. Congratulations to these award recipients. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 6 greatly appreciates a financial sponsorship from Peg Rhodes, a local supporter of the American Legion and the Auxiliary, the news release stated.

Town of Chino Valley candidate forum planned

The League of Women Voters of Central Yavapai County and the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a candidate forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29. The forum will be held virtually via Zoom.

The link to the forum will be posted closer to the date. Candidates in the running for Town Council are Tom Armstrong, Eric Granillo, Billie James, Regina Pecoraro, Annie Perkins and Dianna Voegele. The forum is based solely on questions from the public and so the League of Women Voters encourages the citizens of Chino Valley to ask the questions about what matters to them in their town.
