County Board of Supervisors scheduled to start budget talks on Wednesday
The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors will kick off its budget deliberations for the coming fiscal year in a study session this week.
The public meeting will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Academic Complex 1 (Building 74), conference room #302, 3700 Willow Creek Road, Prescott.
County Administrator Phil Bourdon and Budget Manager Catherine Boland will lead off the session with a report on the 2020-21 budget.
County Public Information Officer David McAtee said the report would be a “big picture” look the county’s budget for the coming year.
The board will then hear a report on compensation issues from Human Resources and Risk Management Director Wendy Ross, followed by a public works update from Public Works Director Dan Cherry.
The meeting will conclude with a report on capital improvements and a Jail District projects update by Facilities Director Ken Van Keuren.
Wednesday’s meeting is the first in a series of meetings on the county budget.
Additional meetings, which will focus on each of the county departments, are expected to take place in April, although the dates have yet to be announced.
Budget approval discussions will occur later in the spring. The 2020-21 fiscal year begins on July 1, 2020.
McAtee said public parking is available in the front of the Embry Riddle Academic Complex 1 (Building 74).
