Ruth Edna Petosa

Ruth Edna Petosa went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2020. She was born in Douglas, North Dakota on May 13, 1925 and grew up on a farm as her father’s best farmhand.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents, George and Margaret Krebsbach; five brothers and one sister. She was the mother to Vicki Petosa (Charlie); grandmother to Monica, Todd and Amanda; great-grandmother to Victoria (Dayne), Samantha, Naya, Azlana, Nico, Cole, Alexander, Julianna and Johnny Ray Jr; great-great-grandmother to Serenity and sister-in-law of Esther Krebsbach.

Following a childhood dream, she went to nurses training in Minot, North Dakota after graduating from Max High School in Max, North Dakota. She joined the Cadet Nurses during WW II and served as a nurse in North Dakota, Montana, Illinois and Arizona. She was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church until her death. She was also an active member in the Sacred Heart Altar Society for many years.

Ruth was beloved by all and she always said that her family was her life. She will be greatly missed and continually loved by all her family and friends.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave. in Prescott, with Father Ralph Berg officiating the Funeral Mass, on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank Maggie’s House Hospice for the wonderful care that mom received in her time of need. Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
