Roadwork in Brief: Robinson Drive, Hope St. improvement and Summit, McCormick, Beach and Goodwin pavement work

Robinson Drive Reconstruction Project

The City of Prescott and Capital Improvements, LLC, are currently working on the second phase of the Robinson Drive Reconstruction Project. The second phase of the project consists of full road removal and replacement of Robinson Drive, from Overstreet Drive to the City limit at the intersection of Canyon Drive East. Additional work includes the installation of new storm drain along Hillcrest Lane, replacement of aged water and sewer lines, drainage improvements, and installation of concrete sidewalks, driveway entrances, and curb and gutter as needed along the project corridor.

Once complete, this project will enhance the drainage capabilities in the improved areas, upgrade the utilities that serve the Prescott community, and provide a smoother ride for motorists well into the future. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2020.

UTILITY INSTALLATION ONGOING ALONG ROBINSON DRIVE — Crews will continue installing new storm drain along Robinson Drive, between Overstreet Drive and Newport Drive, throughout the week. In addition to this work, crews will continue constructing new retaining walls along Robinson Drive, south of Newport Drive, and at the northwest corner of the Newport Drive and Robinson Drive intersection.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Robinson Drive will be closed to through traffic between Overstreet Drive and Newport Drive. Motorists are asked to follow the marked detour and please be aware of reduced speeds, flaggers, and heavy equipment accessing the work zone.

Hope Street Improvement Project

The City of Prescott and Asphalt Paving & Supply, Inc., are currently working on a utility improvements project. The project consists of

replacing approximately 1,150 linear feet of water main, performing a sewer main repair, and installing drainage improvements, asphalt pavement, and curb and valley gutters along Hope Street and Warne Street, as highlighted on the map below.

Once complete, this project will enhance the drainage capabilities and upgrade the utilities that serve the local community. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2020.

WATER MAIN INSTALLATION TO CONTINUE — Crews will continue the installation of new water main along Hope Street and Warne Street throughout the week.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

STREET PARKING AND ACCESS — To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Personnel will work with businesses and residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zones.

Summit, McCormick, Beach and Goodwin Pavement and Utility Upgrade Project

The City of Prescott and Fann Contracting, Inc., are currently working on a pavement and utility upgrade project along Summit Avenue, Beach Avenue, South McCormick Street, and West Goodwin Street. The project consists of

the replacement of various water lines, sewer lines, and storm drain pipe. Additional improvements include the installation of new catch basins, driveway entrances, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and asphalt reconstruction. The project is scheduled to be complete by summer 2020.

NIGHTTIME SEWER MAIN INSTALLATION TO BEGIN ALONG GOODWIN STREET — Starting Sunday, crews will begin installing new sewer main along West Goodwin Street, from South McCormick Street to South Summit Avenue. To minimize the impact to the traveling public, this portion of the work will be performed at night.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Sunday through Thursday, Feb. 16-20, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. West Goodwin Street will be closed to through traffic between South McCormick Street and South Summit Avenue while work is underway.

WATER MAIN INSTALLATION CONTINUES ALONG GOODWIN STREET — Crews will continue installing new water main along West Goodwin Street, from South McCormick Street to South Summit Avenue, throughout the week. In addition to this work, crews will be working on catch basins just east of the West Goodwin Street and South McCormick Street intersection.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone.

UTILITY INSTALLATION TO CONTINUE ALONG BEACH AVENUE — Crews will continue installing water services and testing the newly installed water main along Beach Avenue, between South McCormick Street and South Summit Avenue, throughout the week.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beach Avenue will be closed to through traffic between South McCormick Street and South Summit Avenue while work is underway.

ROAD RECONSTRUCTION TO CONTINUE ALONG SOUTH MCCORMICK STREET — Crews will continue installing catch basins, preparing the base course and removing concrete curb and gutter in advance of new concrete installation along South McCormick Street.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. South McCormick Street will be closed to through traffic between West Gurley Street and West Goodwin Street while work is underway.

MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO CONTINUE ON SUMMIT AVENUE — With all utilities successfully installed along South Summit Avenue, crews will continue performing miscellaneous construction activities between West Gurley Street and West Goodwin Street.

Please be aware of the following impacts: Monday through Friday, Feb. 17-21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone.

STREET PARKING AND ACCESS — To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Motorists should allow for extra time to get through the area and use an alternate route if possible.
