Finding and Making the Good recognized spa owner Rhonda Babbitt on Wednesday, Dec. 16, for her 20 years of organizing gift giving to those less fortunate, through generous donations from her clients.

Over the years, Rhonda has purchased and collected contributions for many causes, including homeless veterans, children in foster care, seniors and others. This year, she got the names, ages and wish lists of 57 children through the Boys and Girls Club.

She makes sure there’s a little bio of each child, so her clients “get to know” who they are contributing to. There are also gifts for the parents, such as crock pots and other household items.

For the 87 residents of the Arizona Pioneers Home, there were 87 poinsettias delivered earlier, and the bags for them each contain a handmade quilt, handmade goodie boxes, treats and toiletries.

The gifts will all be delivered this week, with help from her friend and client, Gary VanSlyke, who also is the person who nominated her.

Although Rhonda insists it’s all her clients that make this happen, clearly it wouldn’t happen without Rhonda’s 20 years of vision and dedication. She starts around Halloween, determining what groups will benefit and giving her clients time to participate.

Each child has a tag hanging on the tree and Rhonda’s clients choose the child they wish to benefit and Rhonda does the rest. Truly, she is Prescott’s Christmas Elf.

As part of the Gato Community Gives program, Finding and Making the Good celebrates the people within the Prescott Quad Cities doing, living and creating positivity. If you know anyone who should be nominated or would care to contribute, visit findingandmakingthegood.com or on Facebook.

If you are interested in contributing to Rhonda’s gift giving in 2021, put Halloween on your calendar.
