Obituary: Ruby Urbana (Hernandez) Foster
On Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, Ruby Urbana (Hernandez) Foster, loving wife and mother, went to be with our Lord at the age of 80.
Ruby was a proud Arizona native, born at home in Congress on Dec. 26, 1939, to Domingo and Margaret (Sandoval) Hernandez. She was an Avon lady in Bagdad and surrounding areas for over 30 years and was beloved by her customers, most of whom became dear friends. On Sept. 6, 1958, Ruby married her one true love, LeRoy Foster. Together they raised one daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Foster.
Ruby’s passions included beautifully decorating her home for every single holiday and spending cherished time with her beloved family. She had a gift for being able to talk to anyone and making each person feel special. Faith was of utmost importance to Ruby. She kept an ongoing prayer list and spent every morning offering up blessings for those in need. She loved to shop and was quite the purse and shoe enthusiast! Her husband and daughter were the very center of her world and they will miss her greatly.
Ruby was preceded in death by her father, Domingo; her mother, Margaret; and her sisters, Virginia “Virgie” Riley and Rosemary “Rosie” Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband, LeRoy; her daughter, Ginny (Kim Petersen); her three brothers, Greg Hernandez (Mina), Ramon Hernandez (Lorraine) and Danny Hernandez; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved with her very heart and soul.
A Rosary, followed by a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at St. Germaine’s Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley.
