Arlene Louise Jorgensen, 85, born April 3, 1935, to Samuel Ovid Jorgensen and Mary Ellen Bullock Jorgensen, in Tooele, Utah, passed away August 4, 2020, in Prescott, Arizona.

She is predeceased by her parents and eight siblings, Samuel Eldores, George Emerson, Helen Clara, Gladys Marie, William Mark, Glen Alexander, Harold Max, and Gerald B. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Utah. She is also survived by many loving friends who will miss her greatly.

Arlene graduated from Brigham Young University and began her teaching career with six years at Intermountain Indian School. She then worked as a teacher supervisor at Tuba City Boarding School on the Navajo Reservation for 24 years. After retiring, Arlene moved to Chino Valley, Arizona, and taught at Del Rio Elementary for 16 years, for a total teaching career of 46 years. Arlene loved children and appreciated the opportunity to teach them and be a part of their lives, as she had no children of her own.

Arlene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many capacities throughout her life. Animals were dear to her heart and she was a long time member of the Humane Society, rescuing many dogs and some cats too.
