Community members plan to ease COVID-19 confinement with an organized cruise around Granville and Viewpoint neighborhoods in Prescott Valley at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25.

The “Cool Car COVID Cruise” will include a wide range of classic and new vehicles.

Keith Cross, a Prescott Valley resident who initiated the event, explained that he wanted to provide a safe way for local residents to get out of the house and watch some cool cars in their neighborhoods during the Arizona stay-at-home order.

“We are a handful of car people wanting to help bring a bit of fun to our communities,” Cross said. “We want to provide a short escape from the understandable cabin fever that many people have been feeling lately, and what better way than to watch some cool cars crawl by? You can watch from your own car or bring some chairs and enjoy the show.”

The cars will begin at 10 a.m. on the southeast corner of Tuscany Way and Santa Fe Loop. They will proceed south down Tuscany, turn right on Granville Fairway and drive back to Santa Fe Loop, where they will turn right again and end up back where they started.

Next, they will reconvene on the corner of Viewpoint Drive and Pronghorn Parkway, at around 10:40 a.m. and cruise up and down Viewpoint Drive and North Antelope Meadows Drive until around 11:15 a.m.

According to Cross, interested drivers can just show up and safely join in the group at any point. He added that drivers should adhere to regular traffic laws.

“Please make sure to leave enough space between cars and if it gets connected in any one place, feel free to alter your route,” Cross said. “We need to keep the roads passable and safe.”
