Eagles open Cal Pac schedule with 12-0 rout of Simpson
REDDING, Calif. – There was not a shortage of goals scored in northern California Friday afternoon, when Embry-Riddle scored a dozen goals against Simpson University in a 12-0 win in their first California Pacific Conference match of 2019.
Just 7 minutes into the first half, Katy Hyde scored the first of the Eagles (4-3-2, 1-0 Cal Pac) seven goals in the half off a rebound. Riley Martinson was active in the half assisting on the second goal, which Sierra Vicente scored. Martinson scored herself just 9 minutes later. Three goals later, Izzy Erickson scored her first collegiate goal right before the halftime whistle.
ERAU's second leading goal scorer in 2018, Parker Lee scored the first of the second half and her first of the season. Kylee Bennett scored just over a minute later, her first of her college career. ERAU buried three more before the end of regulation and bussed out of Redding with a dozen goals.
The Eagles have a rematch of their Cal Pac Championship match from a year ago against UC-Merced on Sunday in Prescott at 1 p.m.
