Human Resources Conference highlights critical workplace topics
PRESCOTT — The Prescott Area Human Resources Association (PAHRA) is sponsoring “Hot Topics in the Cool Pines”, a full-day conference on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Prescott Resort & Conference Center. Participants will hear from highly recognized employment law attorneys, government officials and security experts on significant issues affecting the workplace, according to a news release from PAHRA.
The morning session will be focused on employment law topics. They include how to handle and avoid sexual harassment complaints; dealing with employee political expression in the workplace, as well as objectionable off-duty conduct; and a discussion of the U.S. Department of Labor’s pending changes to the federal pay law.
The afternoon will be devoted to the subject of workplace violence. Identifying red flags, how to diffuse potentially violent people; and preparing for, experiencing and following up on the emotional aftermath of workplace violence will be discussed.
This is a rare opportunity to learn from regulatory, legal and security workplace experts. Employers and others in the community are encouraged to attend. Space is limited and is filling up quickly. The cost is $95 for the full day conference, which includes lunch, or $75 for PAHRA or SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) members.
