Sept. 12 wine-tasting set to raise funds for PEO’s scholarship program
The local Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O) chapter will culminate its 2019 fundraising efforts with a wine tasting next week.
The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., Sept. 12, at Rafter Eleven, 2985 N. Centre Court., Suite. B, in Prescott Valley.
Tickets are $19/person or $30/two people and are available until Sept. 5. They may be ordered by contacting Sharron Benedict at email@example.com.
The P.E.O. is an international association of women who support women’s education through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College, their college located in Missouri, according to a news release from the local chapter.
The organization was founded in 1869, and since then has evolved into an organization of more than 250,000 women who belong to local chapters located all over the United States and Canada.
Prescott’s P.E.O. Chapter Y was founded in 1950, and today has 61 local members. Each year, the chapter raises funds to support the organization’s various scholarship programs as well as providing educational funds for local students.
“Our members are delighted to continue to provide these scholarships and help so many well-deserving women in our Prescott community,” said Chapter Y President Sharron Benedict. “Over the years, our chapter’s philanthropic projects have helped hundreds of local women obtain the education they deserve.”
