Letter: Purpose of death penalty

Editor:

Capital Punishment (also known as the Death Penalty) is not a “crime deterrent.” Its use is the deserved “penalty,” to remove convicted sociopaths permanently from general society. In today’s world, a better use of society’s money is to see these criminals buried in Potter’s Field cheaply, as opposed to spending $40,000 to $100,000 per year to hide them.
