Get away from the seasonal rush and enjoy the sounds of the Yavapai College Women’s Chorale under the direction of Arlene Hardy with “Christmas Echoes” Thursday, Dec. 5.

Relax and renew your Christmas spirit with familiar arrangements mingled with wonderful new musical offerings served with holiday refreshments in the Elks Theatre & Performing Arts Center’s third floor Crystal Hall.

Refreshments begin at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth. The Elks Theatre and Performing Arts Center is located at 117 E. Gurley St.

Laugh with the Improvitonians

The Improvitonians, Prescott Center for the Art’s improvisation troupe led by Robert White, have their next monthly performance at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.

Nothing in their shows is scripted, and there is lots of audience participation, meaning nobody knows just what will happen. Admission is $5 cash-only at the door and no one under the age of 17 will be admitted without a parent or guardian.

Learn some origami

The Prescott Origami Fanatics are teaching how to make origami gift boxes, envelopes and decorations at the Prescott Public Library from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.

The free program, an easy to medium level paper-folding class led by an experienced paper folder, is for adults and teens. Paper is provided.

The Prescott Public Library is located at 215 E . Goodwin St.

"Sleigh" rides downtown

See the downtown lights in Prescott in a unique way from Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 29, when Ride Prescott turns one of its golf carts into a “sleigh,” complete with Santa Joe to share local Christmas stories along with Charlee the rein-dog.

Cost to take the “sleigh” ride is $25 for up to four people. The ride is 30 to 40 minutes in length and furry blankets and hot cocoa are provided. Rides start nightly at 5:30 p.m.
