Veterans Day: Sean Patrick Underhill

2005-2014 - U.S. Army, Captain

Sean P. Underhill was born on March 4, 1982 in Yuma, Arizona where he attended Kofa High School. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Arizona, earning his Commission from the Army ROTC Wildcat Battalion with a B.S. in Public Administration and Criminal Justice. After attending his Military Police Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonard Wood, MO he was assigned to the 855th Military Police Company, of which his late father also served. Concurrently, he was activated for the Southwest Border Mission; Operation Jumpstart, serving in his hometown, and eventually becoming the Task Force Yuma Executive Officer (XO). At the same time, he transferred to the 860th MP Company for Platoon Leader and XO duties, along with a tour in Vicenza, Italy. With his promotion to Captain, he served in the 850th MP Battalion as a staff officer and HHD Commander. The Battalion Headquarters deployed to Qatar where he became the Camp As Sayliyah PMO Operations Officer. CPT Underhill was medically separated from the Army in 2014. He continued to serve, as a Department of Army Civilian Police Officer at the US Army Yuma Proving Ground, working as the Emergency Services Operations Officer and Assistant Chief of Police. In 2017, he resigned his position and moved to Prescott with his wife Jillian to be a stay-at-home parent and care for his young son Quinn and daughter Lucy, loving being able to spend almost every day outdoors exploring all that Prescott has to offer.
