Obituary: Wanda Sue Thom Hall
Wanda Sue Thom Hall of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on May 20, 2019, at age 84. She was born April 8, 1935 to Susie and Wesley Thom, and grew up in east Texas with siblings Edith, Jeanine, Lynda, Gary and David.
She graduated valedictorian from Sabine High School in 1953 and married Marlin Hall shortly thereafter. Together they had three children — Lauri Burton (husband Larry), Kim Vanosdall (husband Rick), and Robert Hall (wife Jacque).
Over the years Wanda enjoyed fellowship with friends from work, especially the girls from Wolfe Publishing in Prescott and the “Happy Old Gals” at Holsum Bakery in Phoenix. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for her Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. Although she had a soft spot for all animals, she almost always shared her home with a beloved cat.
Wanda had a deep faith and was an active member of her faith community. She cherished time with her lifegroup at Central Christian Church and spent much time laughing and eating and sharing life with the ladies she worshipped with.
She is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Central Christian Church, 933 N. Lindsay Road, Mesa, Arizona 85213.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make a donation in her remembrance to a charity of your choice.
