Rants & Raves: May 19, 2019
Got something on your mind? Tell us about it in 40 words or less.
— It is long overdue for the United States Catholic Church hierarchy to formally break away from the historic European Pope’s dominance, particularly this pope who has a socialist mindset, critical of the U.S., capitalism and our legal system.
— The Pope’s decree that sex abuse by the clergy to not be reported to the police amounts to nothing more than “the wolf guarding the henhouse.” This is zero external oversight by law enforcement of a criminal action affecting society.
— Why is the city starting roadwork on White Spar when Haisley and Senator Highway are still closed? This could be a fire safety escape issue for residents in Haisley and Hidden Valley, not to mention an inconvenience.
— Re: Editorial cartoon (1) May 15. This is a vile and reprehensible lie. Opinion is one thing; slander is another. I belong to that proud organization, the NRA, as do thousands of Prescottonians. Shame on you and your liberal views.
— Loved Shannon’s article in the May 15 Courier Opinion Section. Thank you.
— Gretchen Vorbeck deserves credit for starting a foundation to help teachers buy groceries. An even better idea is to elect legislators in Arizona who believe in public schools instead of the ones that have made money off charter schools.
