Quad Cities high school student volunteer fair set for Saturday in Prescott Valley

Stepping Stones Agencies will be hosting a Quad Cities High School Volunteer Fair from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Step One Coffee House, 6719 E. 2nd St. in Prescott Valley.

The fair is open to students ages 13 to 18, and their parents who wish to learn about volunteer opportunities in the community. Some agencies may have age restrictions for volunteering.

Seventeen organizations are expected to participate in the fair, including Stepping Stones Agencies, Prescott Meals on Wheels, Prescott Valley Public Library, Prescott Public Library, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona, Horses with Heart, KindDefined, and Yavapai Humane Society.

Seed school has open seats

Slow Food Prescott will offer Seed School in a Day on Sunday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Skyview School, located at 125 S. Rush Street in Prescott. The Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance will provide attendees an overview of seed knowledge, practical hands-on activities, and lectures. A basic seed saving guide and extended learning certificate are included with the program. The class is free for educators, students and Slow Food members. AARP workshop explores new ways of living and aging

Join AARP Arizona on Wednesday, May 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Prescott Public Library as we discuss and explore new choices to age and live life on your terms. This workshop is open to individuals, families and caregivers, anyone who is interested in celebrating life through creativity and reimagining opportunities. Light refreshments will be served.
