Letter: Courage needed
In past generations, a few forward-thinking individuals have had the courage to oppose development for transient profit in majestic cathedrals such as Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and even smaller iconic areas like Central Park in New York City. These conservationists are today widely regarded as heroes who were able to preserve such splendid beauty not merely for a fortunate few but for all Americans of all times.
At this present time, the members of Prescott’s City Council are faced with just such a situation. Should the exquisite northern section of the Granite Dells be developed with fine homes and a luxury resort for the profit and enjoyment of a small number of people or should those majestic 500 acres be preserved for all citizens into the future? I sincerely hope that OUR City Council will display the wisdom and foresight to act on behalf of us all. Future generations will be truly grateful for such courage!
