Jennifer Louise Fitch

Jennifer Louise Fitch, 51, passed away April 27, 2019, in her Prescott Valley home.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Louise Glover Terry. She is survived by her grandmother, Margie G. Glover; step-father, John W. Stokes; her brothers, Oscar Eldred Terry (Mendie Rae Terry, spouse), and James Weldon Terry; her daughter, Justine Erin Burch (Fitch); and daughter-in-law, Danielle Burch; along with a slew of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Jennifer was born in Prescott, Arizona, on April 1, 1968, in the same hospital and delivered by the same doctor as her mother.

She grew up in Farmington, New Mexico, and after graduating high school, enlisted in the United States Army. While stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, she was a Supply Sergeant whose Logistics Unit was responsible for ensuring the first Humvees were delivered to the Middle East in preparation for Operation Desert Storm. Jennifer was proud of her military career and honored to serve her country. Jennifer loved military men, and would end-up marrying two Army “Hooah” men and a Marine “Oohrah.” She would spend the 1990’s and early 2000’s residing in Washington and then California, supporting her husbands as a military spouse and working for the Department of Veteran Affairs. But… Jennifer’s greatest love was her daughter, Justine, whom she had the pleasure of watching walk down the aisle last October.

Jennifer attended college at Mt. San Jacinto College, in San Jacinto, California, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Business. She worked within the construction trades as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper for the last 20 years.

Jennifer had a calling for the Native American culture embracing the spirituality, music, art and traditions. Sponsored by a Yavapai Chief, she completed her first sweat-lodge in 1994 and given her Yavapai name, “Sister of the Bear.”

Jennifer will be remembered for her gracious heart and spirit. She never forgot a birthday or holiday, always gifting a little something. She was a fantastic cook and made a mean “Red Velvet” cake, presenting one every Christmas without fail.

Services will be a private affair. Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
